The Salesman Who Never Sleeps!

Do you have a website? I sure hope so! How can the world beat a path to your door if they can't find the door?

Your website is the most valuable piece of real estate you own. Don't let it go to waste!

For most of us, there are only 24 hours in each day. Normally, we spend some of those hours eating and sleeping, and hopefully spending time with our loved ones. But wouldn’t it be nice to have a salesman who never stopped? Who never slept, ate or took a day off? Someone who worked 24/7, never slowing down or having a bad day?

You can have that salesman. Believe it or not, it will probably be the cheapest salesman in your entire company. That tireless, never-resting salesman is...

your website!

Once your salesman is established, it can save you and your other workers a lot of time. How many phone calls does your receptionist get, asking the same questions? A FAQ page on your website can answer those questions quickly, day or night.

In our 24-hour world, most people work the same hours you do. So how do they contact you when you are open?

 Answer: They don’t.

They go somewhere else for what they need. With a website, your company is available for those people. They can browse your site, find out if you have what they need, and then contact you by email. The next day, you respond to their email, and make arrangements for further business.

If you sell a product, they can buy it online while you are sleeping. The next day, you pack it up and ship it out. You made a sale, and never spent a minute of your time getting it. What could be easier?

The easiest type of website is one that just provides information. People can go there and find out about your company; who you are, what you do, what you can do for them. If you are what they’re looking for they can contact you by email or phone.

If you get a call and someone says “I was looking at your website…” what do you know immediately?

You have an interested customer on your hands.

No cold calling or direct mail, they came to you because they want what you’ve got. They’re already a “buyer”.  The sale is in process, you just need to close it.

An information website can make your sales pitch for you. You end it with a simple form for them to fill out. Name and phone number or email, and a few simple questions. “What’s the best time to contact you? How do you prefer to be contacted? What product or service would you like more information about?”

Depending on what your business is, a more advanced website can actually close the sale for you. You can put a shopping cart right on the site. They order what they want, pay by credit card, and the order goes directly to your shipping department. You never spend a minute talking to them.

People do use the internet to compare prices. But studies show that simply having the lowest price doesn’t make the sale. If your price is higher, you need to show them why it’s worth more.

Your website can do this easier then a sales call can. The customer feels no pressure to make a decision. They have all the time they want to look around and compare your company/product to every similar one out there. They can sleep on it, then come back tomorrow and compare again. When you hear from them, they’re ready to buy. The selling is already done.
